Terms of Service

By accessing or using County Outpost (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1) Definitions

“County Outpost,” “we,” “us,” and “our” means the operator of the Site. “You” means any visitor, user, or account holder. “Content” includes listings, directory entries, events, messages, text, photos, and other materials posted or displayed on the Site. “Paid Services” means any fee-based feature such as posting to a paid category, boosts, featured placement, extensions, or sponsorships.

2) What County Outpost Is (and Isn’t)

County Outpost is a local-first platform that helps communities browse and post classifieds, view local events, and discover local businesses and service providers through a directory.

County Outpost is not a broker, auctioneer, escrow service, or a party to any transaction between users. Any deal, payment, delivery, warranty, refund, return, or dispute for user-to-user items/services is solely between the parties involved, unless County Outpost explicitly states otherwise in writing.

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or purchase Paid Services. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

4) Accounts & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it updated. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or account misuse.

5) User Content & Posting Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of Content you submit, including listing descriptions, images, pricing, contact details, and category selection. You agree not to submit Content that is illegal, fraudulent, misleading, abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful.

6) Content Moderation & Enforcement

County Outpost may review, edit, remove, restrict, or refuse Content at any time to maintain platform integrity, comply with law, protect users, or enforce these Terms and our policies. Moderation decisions are made at our discretion and may include limiting visibility, removing Content, holding Content for review, or restricting accounts.

7) Paid Services, Fees, and Authorization

County Outpost may offer Paid Services. When you purchase a Paid Service, you authorize County Outpost (and our payment processor) to charge the payment method you provide for the amount shown at checkout, including applicable taxes where required.

Fees are displayed before you submit payment. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, all fees are one-time charges. We do not store full card details on our servers; payments are processed by our payment processor.

8) Delivery of Paid Services

Paid Services are delivered digitally by activating a feature on your account or listing (for example: enabling a paid category post, featured placement, a boost, or an extension). Delivery may be immediate or may require review/approval for policy compliance. If review is required, delivery occurs when the feature is activated after approval.

If a paid posting is rejected for policy reasons, we handle it according to the Refund & Cancellation Policy described below.

9) Refunds, Cancellations, and Returns

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy: Refund Policy. Please review it before purchasing. Unless required by law or expressly stated in the Refund Policy, Paid Services are generally non-refundable once delivered/activated.

County Outpost does not process refunds for user-to-user transactions because County Outpost is not a party to those transactions.

10) Chargebacks & Billing Disputes

If you have a billing question or believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first so we can review and address the issue. Filing an unjustified chargeback may result in account restrictions and removal of listings, to the extent permitted by law and our payment processor’s rules.

11) SMS/Text Messaging (Opt-In, STOP/HELP, Rates, Frequency)

County Outpost may send SMS/text messages for account-related and user-initiated purposes (for example: login or account recovery, submission confirmations, status updates, and service-request acknowledgements) when you provide a phone number and opt in where presented.

• Opt-In: You will only receive texts if you opt in through a form or feature that clearly requests permission.
• Opt-Out: Reply STOP to cancel texts at any time. After you reply STOP, we will send a confirmation and stop messaging.
• Help: Reply HELP for help, or contact support@countyoutpost.com.
• Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity and requests.
• Rates: Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive SMS/text messages is not a condition of purchase. We do not use SMS for unsolicited marketing blasts. SMS details and privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

12) Prohibited Use

You agree not to use County Outpost to violate any law, evade enforcement, facilitate prohibited goods/services, or submit Content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy. You also agree not to:

• Disrupt, disable, overload, or harm the Site or its systems
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, or infrastructure
• Use automated means to post spam or scrape/harvest data in an abusive way
• Misrepresent your identity, location, or the nature of items/services offered

13) Intellectual Property

The Site, including its design, text, graphics, trademarks, and software, is owned by County Outpost or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works except as permitted by law or with written permission.

By submitting Content, you grant County Outpost a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that Content as necessary to operate and promote the Site. You represent that you have the rights needed to grant this license.

14) No Sale of Phone Numbers

We do not sell your phone number. We use contact information to operate the service and communicate about your account and activity as described in our Privacy Policy.

15) Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may reference or link to third-party websites, services, or resources. County Outpost does not control third parties and is not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

16) Disclaimer of Warranties

County Outpost is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

17) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, County Outpost is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Site, your interactions with other users, or purchases from third parties.

18) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless County Outpost from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

19) Changes to the Site or These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Site (in whole or part) at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of County Outpost after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
